WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

I have been painting since I was at school (Douglas Ewart High School in Newton Stewart), more years ago than I care to think about, having been inspired by my art teachers Jack Maltman and Charles Manners. After leaving school I moved to London where other interests pushed painting to the back burner until around ten years ago when my interest was reignited. Since moving to Kirkcudbright in 1999 I have had six exhibitions, sometimes shared with friends, but mainly solo of watercolours and acrylics. I exhibit regularly at The Harbour Cottage Gallery in Kirkcudbright in the Gallery's own exhibitions and currently have permanent exhibitions of paintings and framed prints at The Masonic Arms in Gatehouse of Fleet an excellent place for a good meal. In summer 2009 I exhibited, with friend Gabrielle Harrington,  in the National Trust for Scotland's Broughton House  Laundry Room for three months.

Each year Kirkcudbright's studios and other venues are open to the public for the Art & Crafts Trail Weekend - I take part in this and for the past two years have temporarily converted my garage into a gallery and tearoom ( my wife makes wonderful cakes). The dates for the 2010 weekend are Friday 30 July - Sunday 1 August. My new Gallery and Studio will be open and we will again be serving tea and cakes in the Garage Tearoom.

A  number of exciting projects have been planned for 2010 including  exhibitions with my school friend Gabrielle Harrington at Broughton House and the Harbour Cottage Gallery (see WHAT'S ON))
